Having a routine is arguably one of the best ways to be successful. I would argue that it is also one of the best ways to keep anxieties down and energy up to give you that power you need to finish strong at the end of the day! Here are 4 key take-a-ways to help you implement right away:
1. Start Your Day Off Right
Wake up early to make time to meditate or pray, go for a walk, eat a nutritious breakfast. Determine to have at least 20 minutes of peace and quiet- no checking your phone, email or voicemail. Now is also a good time to drink your first glass of water. Add a squeezed lemon to boost your body's immune system (much needed in the wake of COVID-19).
2. Mindset Reset
Before rushing into another video meeting in the morning, level-set your mind. Read a positive article or a book that is enlightening. Or do some journaling. Or listen to your favorite music. Then take your positive mood with you throughout the day.
3. Surroundings to Nurture Your Subconscious
Whether returning to working outside the home or continuing to work from home, make your work area inspiring and calming. Display a few of your favorite motivational quotes, plug in a scented candle or use a diffuser with a calming aromatherapy oil like lavender or chamomile. And most importantly, declutter your space and change it up. A new look and feel to the same space makes a big difference to your subconscious mind and births new ideas.
4. Nightly Recharge
Don't just waste time watching mindless TV in the evening. Instead, boost your brain power by nurturing it. Take 4 deep breaths slowly while feeling the stress leave your body then take a quiet bath while listening to a soothing tune followed by sitting in a quiet area with an aromatherapy neck wrap and reflect on the fact that "tomorrow will be an even better day".
